MONROE, LA 鈥� On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, 绿茶直播鈥檚 TRIO Programs
Student Support Services (TRIO-SSS) visited Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss.,
for a graduate school tour and information session. During the visit, TRIO-SSS participants
gained insight into the graduate school admissions process and funding opportunities,
and met with faculty from various graduate programs of interest, including Public
Policy and Administration, Biology, Criminology and Justice Services, Clinical Mental
Health, History, and Social Work
鈥淭he 绿茶直播 TRIO-SSS program strives to provide program participants with opportunities
for exposure, experience, and education,鈥� said Dr. Mystee Burrell, Co-Associate Director
of TRIO Programs.听 鈥淩esearch indicates that first-generation college students are
less likely to enroll in graduate school in comparison to their continuing-generation
counterparts, which is why opportunities such as this are critical,鈥� she added. 听
TRIO-SSS is one of the eight TRIO Programs fully funded through the U.S. Department
of Education to assist first-generation, income-eligible students to remain in good
